Realising that the original idea for my storyboard would be problematic to put into practice, I changed my plan; the first few shots instead would entail the protagonist applying make-up - overtly getting ready leave the house like any other teenage girl - the tone would then change, however, when there is a close-up of her tying the laces of her Doc Marten style boots. The connotations of these boots would promote the artist, genre and just generally reinforce the cultural significance of the music video.
The first shot in my music video will be an over-the-shoulder-shot, which will immediately switch to an extreme close-up of the main character's eyes, shortly followed by another of her applying some more make-up. I have planned to do this because I think that delaying the revelation of the identity of the main character will make for an enigmatic impact on the overall video.
Next, I plan to do some more close-ups of the main characters Doc Marten style boots from various angles to give some clues to the audience about the subculture that the main character/artist belongs to.
For the remaining part of the video I am going to film all of the characters in a variety of locations just generally enjoying themselves to give the audience the impression that they all have a 'gang mentality' that bands all too often strive for.
